Ooh, la-la, this one is tres magnefique, breezy, and summery. Coming in at 418 by 426 stitches, this ambitious French sampler from the late 1800's comes to us from the little township of Buxy, France. The model was stitched on 40 count Old Sheep by XJudesigns -- you will need to purchase a fat half yard if you want to stitch this on 40-count. You can squeeze it onto a fat half of the 36-count, but you would only have about two inches on the sides. Otherwise, I recommend purchasing a full yard (and save the extra for other projects!)

Threads are Soie d'Alger Noir, 516 (2), 934, 2223 (1-2), 2543, 3431, 4134, 4142, 4534, 5025, S2860 and Gloriana Terra Cotta (3). A full DMC conversion is provided, but will yield different results, as the colors in this sampler are unusual. All stitching (except for a few backstitches) is done over-two with no specialtuy stitches. That means this project is suitable for linen, even-weave, and Aida fabrics.

This chart is deluxe -- 28 pages -- including full-color and black & white charts. Beautiful photography and a thoughtful write-up make this fun to even just look at.
